Xu Kun is Deputy Chair of the Beijing Writers' Association. She has won more than thirty prizes, including the 2003 Lu Xun Literary Award. Liu Zhenyun's humour and urban stories have made his works greatly successful in China and earned him the 2011 Mao Dun Literature Prize. His previous novels include I Did Not Kill My Husband and Cell Phone. Chi Zijian is a critically acclaimed fiction author. She was awarded the Mao Dun Literary Prize for The Last Quarter of the Moon and the only writer to have won the prestigious Lu Xun Literary Award three times. Qiao Ye's works are known for their in-depth portrayal of the female psyche. Her 2008 novella The Slowest Is Living won her the Lu Xun Literary Award. Jia Pingwa is a prolific author of novels, short stories, and essays. He received the Lu Xun Literary Award in 2007, and his first novel published in English, Turbulence, won the Pegasus Prize for Literature.
