Francis Russell was educated at Oxford and has travelled in Turkey for more than thirty years. He has worked at Christies since 1972 and is currently Deputy Chairman, specialising in old master paintings. He has written numerous books including the successful 101 Places in Italy: A Personal Grand Tour (Wilmington Square Books, 2014) to which this is a companion.
